Kathryn Kilroy, M.A.
Kathryn Kilroy is a graduate of The University of Oregon where she received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology with an emphasis on child development and went on to gain her Masters from George Fox University in Elementary education.
Kathryn is an avid equestrian who has long help a passion working with horses and people in need, she grew up riding and competing in dressage until she discovered eventing where she is able to combine her love of dressage with jumping. Kathryn is a fervent believer in the healing capacity of the horse-human relationship. She’s excited to help others form lasting and impactful bonds with horses.
Kathryn is delighted to be a part of the Center at Heron Hill team and is excited to continue learning from both the human and equine staff so that she can be the catalyst for positive change and use her education and experience to enhance the lives of others.
Kathryn has worked extensively with children and youths varying in ability levels in a variety of settings, including camps, day programs, schools, and private homes. These experiences have brought Kathryn immeasurable fulfillment and have inspired her dream of a career in the equine assisted mental health field.
In her free time, Kathryn loves getting into the great outdoors with her husband and giant German Shepherd. Hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding consume much of their time off together. Although, in the cloudier and colder months, you can find Kathryn curled up on the couch with a cat, a cup of tea, and a good book.
