Laura Reed, QMHP, Mental Health Student Intern
I believe you are the expert of your experience and I am here to support your intentions for therapy with warmth and compassion. I see counseling as a way for people to make deeper contact with themselves and the world around them, with nature-connection playing a foundational role. I enjoy incorporating creativity in counseling and am skilled in providing a space where you can feel supported in vulnerability. I work from a holistic perspective that extends beyond traditional talk therapy and honors the mind-body connection. Our work together will also include exploration of your identities and social locations, as well as the greater context of your lived experience.
I am currently working towards my masters degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. My prior experience includes providing individual therapy at the Lewis and Clark Community Counseling Clinic, mental health support at a summer arts camp for youth, and advocacy counseling for a crisis hotline. I am a musician and earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Western Washington University in 2012.
I am fortunate to have lived in the beautiful PNW my whole life and enjoy hiking, biking, and camping as often as I can, rain or shine. In my free time I can also be found playing music with friends and spending time with my cat Winnie.
