Care for Caretakers During a Pandemic
March 3, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until April 21, 2022
During these challenging times, increased demands and stressors make it even more difficult to care for ourselves while spending time and energy caring for others. Whether we’re helping others at work or at home, filling our own cup can easily fall to a non-priority item on our to-do list. This 8-week adult (18+) virtual group hopes to cultivate self and community care in order to help individuals cope with the unique mental health challenges that come with caring for others through a pandemic. This group recognizes that as well as self-care, connection with others is essential to the healing process.
We will incorporate art-therapy practices, mindfulness and self-compassion, emotional processing, nature-based practices, experiential exercises and discussion topics, etc.
Some of the topics we may explore are:
-Pandemic related grief, isolation, and uncertainty
-The mental/emotional demands of caring for others
-Mindful self-compassion
-Self-care techniques
-Boundary exploration
-Emotional identification & regulation
