Trauma Informed Yoga for Adults (18+ years)
July 12 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Tuesday, repeating until September 6, 2022
Trauma disconnects us from our bodies as a means of survival, often leading to chronic pain, and other somatic symptoms of distress. Whether disconnected from our body or experiencing the world in more vigilant or aroused state, trauma has a major impact on the way we live within our bodies. Taught with this awareness in mind, this group aims to be approachable, accessible and easily adaptable for a range of different bodies and needs. Trauma informed yoga helps clients explore the sensations of the body that trauma can often overwhelm or disconnect us from. The practice of Yoga can often help clients build a larger window of tolerance to feelings and sensations. In return, providing a stronger ability to discern needs, and find ways to regulate our nervous systems. The opportunity to practice these skills in community may lead to experiencing greater support, a sense of compassion, and a stronger ability to navigate feelings and needs in the presence of others.
This 75-minute group will meet weekly on Tuesday’s for 8 weeks beginning July 12th , from 9-10:30 am
