Weaving Strength: Fiber Arts Mindfulness and Empowerment Group
June 28 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Tuesday, repeating until July 19, 2022
This is a 7-week group designed for those 18 years of age and older who have survived trauma, particularly sexual trauma or intimate partner violence. Group members will work with the fleeces from Heron Hill’s two recently sheared sheep and learn how to turn single hairs into yarn, woven wall hangings, and felted creatures. Through these old practices, group members will deepen their ability to access creativity and ability to relax. By using their hands and bodies, group members will release the past and discuss ways to weave their lives into strong, connected tapestries of self and community. There is always strength in many fibers.
This group will meet weekly for 7 weeks beginning on Tuesday June 7th from 10:30 am – 12 and end on Tuesday July 19th. Group will not meet on July 5th due to the holiday.
