Eco-Therapy Intensive Training Program

An event every day that begins at 9:00 am, repeating until October 16, 2022
This program is geared toward therapists/counselors and mental health students and interns who are interested in incorporating ecotherapy principles and practices into their clinical work. The program will include didactic learning, experiential activities, group debrief and resource sharing all on a beautiful 60 acre property. Participants can expect to leave the training having met the following learning objectives:
– Understand the theoretical foundation for practicing ecotherapy
-Explain how to assess and prepare a client for outdoor-based ecotherapy
-Understand legal and ethical issues involved in an outdoor ecotherapy session
-Understand the importance of a decolonized framework in utilizing ecotherapy
-Gain strategies in helping clinicians and clients assess their own ecological identities and understand why this is important
-Learn barriers people may experience in feeling welcome, safe, or connected to the natural world and ways we can create more accessibility and safety for fostering connection to outdoor spaces and provide deeper outcomes to client issues
-Gain at least 4 tools each in the following areas: how nature-based therapy can be incorporated into common therapy practices and theoretical orientations; practical tools in ecotherapy interventions with a variety of client populations.; applying ecotherapy practices to indoor therapy spaces or telehealth work with clients.
EVENT DATES:
Friday, October 14 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 15 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 16 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
-Maximum of 20 participants. Program will take place in person
-Must attend all 3 days of training to receive the 22 CE credit hours
-Participants must hold a graduate degree in a mental health field or be current students in a graduate program focused on mental health.
– Fee is $500.00 per person. Student Rate is $350.00
-We will have one fully-funded scholarship for a person who is BIPOC. Recipient of this scholarship is on a first come, first serve basis
-If you register 5 people or more, please contact us for a group discount at least 5 days prior to the program start date.
-Drinks and snacks will be provided, but participants will need to bring their own meals.
-Certificate of completion will be awarded to all participants at the end of the training.
